The Kansas City Gig

He needed a new drumhead. His band had landed a huge gig and everyone was upgrading their instruments before the show. They wanted to make a big impression, they wanted to give Kansas City a show they would never forget.

He stared at the drumhead packs displayed before him with a heavy-hearted sigh. While the prices seemed fairly reasonable, his paycheck was never enough, even for bills. How could he give his fans his best if he didn't have the best for his drums? It was a question he'd been asking himself for the past several weeks.

His eyes scanned over the packs once more, until he found the one he was looking for. It was the lowest in price, but it would have to do. It meant meals would be missed and he'd be walking to work for a while, but it was all he could do for now.
