The Conference Call

He ended the video teleconferencing call with a heavy heart as the tears started to well up in his eyes. He couldn’t understand what he’d done so horribly wrong to make her angry with him once again. He swiped at the tears and took a deep breath. It would do no good to get emotional. What was done was done. She was gone because of him. It was all his fault and he could not blame anyone but himself, whatever the reason may be.

He stood up from the chair and calmly turned off his laptop. It would be days before she decided he was worthy of her again. Days. Until then, he would go about doing what he loved the most until his punishment was overwith. Maybe by then he would win her love once again, if he was even worthy of that.
