Sometimes it can be a nightmare working for a temp service. Companies who hire through them don’t have to pay for holiday shut downs of the plant, no matter how long that holiday may be. And unfortunately, we’re about to experience just that for a whopping 2 weeks. Now to many that may not seem like a lot of time, but when you’re without a paycheck for those weeks, it’s a lot of time and more financial debt.
The good news is, we were able to make sure the kids have a Christmas thanks to our lovely community and its people. And while the older ones might understand that getting presents really isn’t what Christmas is all about, the little ones haven’t grasped that concept yet.
The bad news is, well it’s sort of bad news. We’re having to make a huge payment today, towards the house to keep a roof over our heads. That is, if we have enough to cover it. Then, once we do, it leaves us with nothing for the gas tank to get back and forth to work, and nothing for miscellaneous type items such as toilet paper. It also means that other bills will not get paid this week. But that’s life and I’m sure we’re not the only ones severely struggling in this economy.
