The Mechanic

This is another novel I'm working on. Let me know what you think.

She doesn’t open the door though and asks what he wants. “You. This is all your fault.” He’s angry now and she’s worried and tells him she’s going to call the cops. He laughs at this and says it wouldn’t be a first and certainly wouldn’t be a last. Now she is angry and tells him he has no reason/right to have a child in his home. “That child. Is my daughter!” He shouts and storms off. She is shocked and he has just realized what he has said. He tries to shake his head to clear everything and when it doesn’t work he calls his ex again. This time she answers the phone. He stumbles out his words and says, “A daughter.” Her response is, “What?” “Daughter. Did you give up our daughter?” “What? What are you talking about.” She says. Now he is more frustrated. “Daughter damn it!” “The past is done (his name.) I have no fucking daughter.” She screams into the phone and hangs up on him. He is at a lost for words at what she has just said. He looks at the phone and then slowly hangs up the receiver. Then he walks around in a daze until he decides to sit down on his couch where he passes out.
