Saturday we attended the Neewollah fun run that Independence, Kansas has every year. It's a great way for the kids to get out and get some exercise and also a lot of fun when you're bored and don't want to spend any money.
This year however was someone irritating. The kids had signed up for the fun run through their schools several weeks in advance so that they could get their free t-shirt and prizes at the end of the event (I'll post pics soon). To our disappointment either the school or the event lost one of the kid's registrations. So while one sibling was able to run in their new t-shirt the other was not.
Thankfully, by the end of the race the event had some t-shirts leftover and prize packs. Still, if they didn't have the promised t-shirt and prizes I think there would have been an all out battle about lost children in the registration process. It certainly wouldn't be a first time and it certainly won't be a last time. Unfortunately this is a situation where it's hard to pin the blame on anyone. I'm just glad things ended nicely and no child was left disappointed. And ohhhh more school/ city horror stories to come!
